MEET OUR VETERINARY STAFF

Ciaran Montague MVB

MRCVS Cert. Vet. Dermatology
Clinic Director

Ciaran is originally from Omagh, Co. Tyrone and a pupil of Omagh CBS. He married Gillian Morrow from Ballykelly and is now settled in Limavady with their two children, Niamh and Ashton. Ciaran is a 1994 honours graduate from University College, Dublin. After spending three years in mixed practice in Northern Ireland, Ciaran moved to England where he spent some six years enhancing his pet skills in Worcestershire, Essex and Yorkshire. He managed a branch surgery in Ilford for Goddard Veterinary Group before moving home to set up practice in Limavady with his wife Gillian. Ciaran is one of only two vets in Northern Ireland who has the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology which means that expert assistance is at hand for all your pet's skin problems.

Spare time is scarce but Ciaran manages to devote some time to his best pal, Brook, his Dogue de Bordeaux. He manages a small farm holding in the area, enjoys cinema, NASA, Terry Brooks and Ebay!

Making it all worthwhile are Niamh Montague (age 7) and Ashton Montague (age 4).  They are pictured here with their 3 year old Shetland pony, Sparkle. Niamh and Ashton may be regularly seen at the clinic sometimes lending a helping hand and checking that Daddy is looking after all the patients properly!  Might they be budding young Veterinarians perhaps?

 Mrs. Gillian Montague, Practice Manager

Gillian Montague, daughter of Ken and Hazel Morrow, is from Ballykelly, Limavady. She started work in the veterinary field at the age of 16 and moved to London to achieve her professional qualification. She qualified as a veterinary nurse from Writtle College in Chelmsford in 2000 and worked as head nurse for Companion Care in Romford and as a head nurse for Goddard Veterinary Group in Essex. She is now also qualified to train other veterinary nurses and has been heavily involved in setting up a new veterinary nursing course at Letterkenny Institute of Technology where she also lectures regularly. Gillian holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Training and Education from Griffen College in Dublin.  Click here for more information on a career in Veterinary Nursing.  Gillian is also a qualified pet insurance advisor and has reached the Hills Pet Slimmer of the Year National Finals with some of her patients. She was awarded Shell Livewire Young Irish Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004 for her role in setting up the ground breaking clinic. Most of her little spare time is devoted to her children, Niamh and Ashton, her husband and her Shih Tzu, Rosie. Gillian also likes horse riding and travelling.
