Bay Animal Hospital is a full-service animal hospital and wellness center.
We provide in-house surgeries, a full range of diagnostic laboratory
services, and a complete pet pharmacy.

We recommend a complete physical exam for your pet on a yearly basis. Lots of changes can occur from year to year, especially as your pet gets older. Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination findings and your pet’s individual needs and situation, which you help us to determine. This may include blood, urine, or fecal tests, vaccinations, dietary or exercise advice, and life-style changes.

Our Veterinarians are trained in state-of-the-art surgical techniques should your pet require a surgical procedure. We offer a full range of soft tissue surgeries from routine spays and neuters to more advanced procedures.
We also maintain an extensive referral service for those procedures requiring specialized training and equipment.

Our on-site laboratory allows us to perform diagnostic
lab testing to help us determine the best treatment plan
for your pet's medical condition.

Our modern digital X-Ray equipment ensures fast and accurate diagnostic images generated without the inconvenience and environmental consequences of film and a processor.
Within minutes, we can have your pet's X-rays ready for interpretation by our doctors and copies of radiographs can also be formatted to take home on a CD.

We offer advanced Ultrasound technology to help us
diagnose your pet's medical condition without the trauma of
invasive exploratory surgery. Ultrasound imaging can give us a
clear and precise format from which to determine the most
effective treatment options for your pet.

Our EKG and Pulse Oximetry equipment can monitor your
Pet's heart rate and vital signs to better determine how
well your Pet is responding to treatment and during
surgical procedures.
Endoscopy is a medical procedure that enables us to look at the gastrointestinal tract using a thin, flexible tube with a tiny camera at the tip. Within the tube is a channel that allows the passage of a variety of diagnostic instruments for examination and biopsy.
Veterinary Endoscopy allows definitive evaluation of the lining of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and colon.
Small samples of these areas can be taken and then analyzed in order to determine the exact nature of your pet's problem.

MICROCHIP TECHNOLOGY has arrived at Bay Animal Hospital!
Every day a beloved family pet is lost. Tragically, most never make it back home because their owners didn't identify them. The MicroChip is the professional way to identify your pet and is proven safe and effective. A tiny MicroChip that contains a personal identification number distinguishes your pet as a special member of your family. The MicroChip is so tiny that it fits through a hypodermic needle. Just like a vaccination, it is injected under the skin of your pet where it remains safely for life. This inexpensive procedure can be done anytime and protects virtually any pet in your household.

Vaccinating your pets against disease is one of the
most important aspects of pet health care.
Proper vaccination can spare your pets from such
potentially deadly diseases as rabies, distemper and
feline leukemia. Vaccinations must be re-administered
periodically to protect your pets from diseases and
keep them healthy for a lifetime.

When cancer is diagnosed in a pet, the course of action is suddenly unfamiliar and owners are often unsure of the next step to take. A cancer diagnosis in a pet is not a sentence of immediate euthanasia. Chemotherapy is a treatment option. It's best for cancers that involve multiple sites or sites that aren't susceptible to surgery or radiation.
While the drugs used in veterinary chemotherapy are the same as human chemotherapy, animals often tolerate chemotherapy much better than people do. Even though the drugs are usually well tolerated by dogs and cats, they are very potent drugs and can cause serious side effects so dogs and cats are closely monitored while receiving chemotherapy. Early in the course of chemotherapy weekly examinations and blood tests are usually performed.

Oxygen therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that has been used by humans for many years, and has found quite a following among professional athletes. Veterinary oxygen therapy involves introducing the pet to high levels of oxygen under pressure in a special chamber.
HOW IT WORKS: At normal atmospheric pressure, there is a limit to the amount of oxygen carried by red blood cells and only a tiny amount of oxygen is dissolved in the plasma. Increasing the amount of air breathed cannot significantly improve oxygen delivery to the body by way of hemoglobin, even if you breathe pure oxygen. However, with increased pressure, the oxygen level in blood plasma increases, with higher delivery to all body tissues. Under these conditions, oxygen is physically dissolved in the plasma, even in the veins. The dissolved oxygen is more readily utilized by the body than the oxygen carried by red blood cells. The oxygen is forced into the blood and body fluids, making its way to any damaged areas of the body than can’t be reached by normal blood circulation or areas where vessels have been hindered by injury or infection.

intraocular pressure with this quick, painless procedure.

Older patients commonly experience the same problems
that older humans do – heart problems, diabetes, arthritis,
chronic renal insufficiency, dental problems, hearing and
vision loss, etc. Many of these conditions we can treat to
extend and improve your older pet’s quality of life.
