Tonka, my English bulldog, is everyone's best friend. Some of Tonka's hobbies include falling asleep standing up, playing with stuffed animals, hanging out car windows, and short walks to the dog park. Tonka also loves to play dress up, take long naps, and avoid baths. Her favorite toy is a basketball and in her down time she loves to clean her most loyal cat companion, Tommy.

He is going to miss “Tonka” our little bull dog who is moving to Texas.
Our thanks to Belinda for this great photo!

Meet Ceilidh (pronounced KAY-LEE). She is quite a party girl. She loves hamming it up for a crowd… Especially if the crowd happens to be at the dog park. She’s short and squatty but she’s the fastest Shih Tzu we’ve ever seen. She’s a little bit of a tomboy, too.
She loves Dr. Goodell (aka “The Hot Doc” to some of us girls at the Redondo Beach Dog Park). She plays gently with puppies and babies, but loves to run and she can keep up with the pack …even if she has to cheat a little!
Our thanks to Darice Fisher for this great photo!

This is Lucky Kirby, an 8 year old Shepherd Mix. She was found wandering on the streets of south central LA when she was 2 months old, rescued from the July heat and brought to her new and current home to Manhattan Beach. She loves walks, belly rubs and giving kisses and is the best dog ever. She gets great care from all of the folks at Bay Animal Hospital in Manhattan Beach.
Our thanks to Robin Kirby for this great photo!

This is "Daisy Mae". She came into my life in June 2007 when I found her at Noah's Bark Animal Rescue web site. She has just one eye but doesn't realize it since it has been that way since birth. She is a new patient at Bay Animal Hospital and considers everyone there her friend, especially her very own Dr. Goodell. Her special thing to do is sit in my lap, she loves to be brushed and having ear massages and she will endure cuddlying with anyone for as long as they want. She loves all the attention she gets at Bay Animal Hospital and says "Thank You"!
Our thanks to Bettie Donahoe for this terrific photo!

ZachyBu found me at a very hard time in my life when I spent most days in bed, depressed. One night I heard him meowing outside my window, so my friend and I rescued him. We actually thought he was a girl and named him Zoey! My roommate was super allergic, so we took Zoey to the local shelter and said goodbye. I couldn't stop thinking about her and kept checking the lost cat webpage to see if she had been adopted yet. It wasn't until my friend searched 'all cats' that we realized our BOY was still there 22 days later! I called and they said he'd caught a cold and was on "The List" Ahhh! Naturally, I was hysterical. I had to go save my baby.
I called and emailed everyone I knew (again) to see if they could keep him, and little did I know that my mom, although allergic herself, was thinking of taking him for me until I could move. And that's what happened! I can not imagine what my life would be like without my ZachyBu! He helped me get out of that depression and has been such a blessing in so many ways!
Our thanks to Zachary's Mom for this great photo!

Here's Teddy, he rescued our lost family from the people pound. We were strays and needed a loving home which he provided. We have been together 4 years and he takes care of us very well.
.jpg)
Teddy is currently single and is dating. His interest are exercising with friends, playing sports, eating fine cuisine and dancing. His current occupation is in family security and he has an interest in landscaping. He is a new patient at Bay and is the adoptive parents of the Yanagihara family.

a day of skate boarding.
Anna Mae is a Sharpei - Bulldog mix.
Our thanks to Anna Mae's family for this great photo!

Kimba and Lizzie were abandoned sisters found in a construction site in Hermosa Beach. Now four years old they are best buddies with totally different personalities. Lizzie is lovable and follows us around like a puppy while Kimba is like her namesake the lion who prefers devoting most of her life to the search for food and watching the fish in the tank. They are called the munchies as they were separated from their mother early and love sitting in your lap munching on your tee shirt. They also love flopping on their backs and looking at you over their heads backwards!

Here's "Kimba".
Here's "Lizzie".

Here's "Toby".
Toby is our beautiful three and a half year old Golden who loves the world and everything in it. He loves to run and go hiking with Kirby and his facial expressions are hysterical. He can be wonderfully obstinate at times as well as endearingly sensitive and is certainly not a morning guy. He takes a long time to wake up and then look out! His favorite game is stalking the attractive Kimba who he has a tremendous crush on and he also is very attached to us and hates being alone for even a little while. Toby is just full of love and kindness and is a huge joy and we are blessed to have him in our lives.
Kirby is a seven year old
Golden rescued from a less than caring family who has had lots of health
problems. Thanks to the great care of Dr. Feringa and Bay Animal Hospital Kirby
is doing great and races around like a thoroughbred. He loves to hike with Toby
and swim as you can see and is super intelligent, communicating every feeling
imaginable. His favorite thing to do is crawl up next to you on the couch and
bury his head behind you. He also knows when it's time for bed and about 10PM
every night that's where he heads. He is the most loving and loyal friend
imaginable!

Our thanks to John Ehrenfeld for these great photos!

Buster, our crazy 5 year old English Bulldog, joined our family at 11 months and has been a special part of our family ever since. He has been a perfect boy to our 9 month old daughter. Thanks to Dr. Goodell, he now has two bionic knees after two successful ACL surgeries.
Our thanks to Tiffani Miller for this great picture.

Spot “Austin” adopted us back in 1998. She was a stray, but we could tell that at one time she had a home. She knew how to use the potty box and stayed completely off the furniture unless invited. It took her a few months to decide that we were acceptable “Room Mates”. Now we can’t imagine being without her. This is her favorite “I’m sooo comfortable” pose, but she also uses this pose to indicate that some indignity on our part (such as forgetting to pet her) does not bother her in the least.
Our thanks to Lare & Karen Austin for this fantastic photo!

Here is "Brownie" or "Brown Bear" as he is sometimes
known. It looks like Brownie is getting ready to
take himself for a walk!
Our thanks to Nelly for this wonderful picture!

Molly, a 3 year old Tri-color Cavalier King Charles, loves watching TV with her little sister, CoCo, a 2 year old Blenheim Cav. They often visit Dr.s Kathy Gilman and Jennifer Bailey to see if they are feeling OK. Too much TV is never a good thing though...."Please Dad, no more Food Network TV" !
Our thanks to Bob and Pati Motto for this great photo!

I have been taking my babies to Bay Animal Hospital for the last 12 years. They have always been very caring and take great care of our little darlings. I currently have three dogs that live with me, two of which are mine, and one that is my "grandbaby" Bella, who belongs to my daughter, Sarina.

This is Peter the day after we rescued him from living on the streets. He was so skinny and shy; but between lots of food, love and frequent visits to the Doctors at Bay Animal Hospital, he is now a fun loving (thou still a little underweight) happy Pit Bull Mix. He is my newest baby.

Peter is "King of the Hill" at the local dog park!
Here's Peter clowning around!

This is Maggie and Bella. Bella, now 4 years old, was adopted from the SPCA when she was about 8 months and has been a client at the Bay Animal hospital ever since. Maggie (the big one) aka Momma dog, had been a client of Bay Animal Hospital since she was a young girl. She was 13 years old when she passed away January 2006.

This is my Goofy boy, he is currently 10 years old and has been a patient at the clinic since he was born. His Mama was Maggie and she insisted her babies be treated with the best care!
And here's Goofy as a baby!
Our thanks to Suzanne Golden for all these wonderful photos!
