Chris Biggerstaff, DVM  (Photo Coming Soon!)

Senior Clinician, Staff Surgeon

 

Dr. Chris Biggerstaff graduated from veterinary school at the University of Missouri in 1988.  His grandmother was a long-time resident of Rosamond and he made his home with her immediately following graduation.  He opened Southern Kern Veterinary in Rosamond in April of 1989 and worked there full time until August of 2004.  At this time he took the reigns of Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic from Dr. Dave Fly.  Dr. Biggerstaff has a passion for surgery, specifically orthopedic surgery.  Many surgical procedures are performed at Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic that are often reserved for the big hospitals in Los Angeles.  Dr. “Chris” routinely performs TTA’s, TPLO’s, and any variety of fracture repair.

 

 

Dr. Dean, Veterinarian

 

Dr. Dean joined the Quartz Hill team after graduating from Mississippi State University of Veterinary Medicine in April, 2009.  She completed her bachelor’s degree at Clemson University with a degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences.  Dr. Dean has recently moved to the Antelope Valley to join the wonderful team here at Quartz Hill.  She is a long way from her native home of South Carolina.  Moving to California in May, Dr. Dean left behind her family in the Myrtle Beach area.  Dr. Dean drove cross country with her four-legged child, a six year old Doberman named Zeus.  She enjoys spending her free time outdoors, exploring new regions of the west coast, watching Clemson football games, and riding her motorcycle.  Dr. Dean has always wanted to practice small animal veterinary medicine in such a friendly town with an environment so hospitable. A community like this would make anyone feel as if they were raised there.  She feels like she has found her place at Quartz Hill, and she looks forward to serving the community for many years to come.

 

 

 

Dr. Brenna, Veterinarian

 

Dr. Brenna joined Quartz Hill Veterinary Clinic in April, 2009.  She is very happy to have found such a wonderful and supporting group of people to work with.  She graduated from University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in June, 2008.  Prior to joining our practice she worked as a large animal veterinarian in northern California.  There, she treated horses, goats, sheep, as well as llamas and alpacas.  Although Dr. Brenna does not treat large animals any longer, she still enjoys here own herd of animals at home.  She rides horses competitively, showing Hunter/Jumpers but also enjoys a long trail ride with friends.  She owns four horses:  Dancer (paint horse), Flash (quarter horse), Star (Percheron/thoroughbred cross), and Tango (mule).  She has three dogs:  Rocky (black Lab), Sadie (German Shepherd), and Fozzie (Poodle mix) as well as three cats (Bobby, Torie, and Boots) that keep her on her toes.  Dr. Brenna enjoys spending time with her fiancé.  They can be found camping, hiking, jeep driving, hanging out at the beach or even sitting back and enjoying a movie.  Dr. Brenna and here fiancé both grew up in Ventura County which makes it nice to be so close to all their family.
